1. Processing and Handling
Each order is carefully inspected, photographed, and packaged by our team prior to shipment. Orders are typically processed within 3–5 business days after payment is confirmed. Processing times may vary depending on:
- Authentication or appraisal requirements
- Custom packing for fragile or oversized antiques
- High seasonal order volume or courier delays
You will receive a shipping confirmation email once your order has been dispatched.
2. Shipping Methods and Carriers
We use trusted and insured shipping carriers to ensure your antiques travel securely. Depending on item size, destination, and value, we may ship using:
- UPS, FedEx, or DHL Express (for domestic and international delivery)
- Specialized art or antique freight services for oversized or delicate items
- USPS Priority Mail for small insured packages
All shipments include tracking and insurance coverage. Tracking information will be emailed to you immediately after dispatch.
3. Shipping Fees
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight, size, value, and destination. For international shipments, customers are responsible for customs duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees (where applicable).
We may occasionally offer free or discounted shipping promotions, which will be clearly noted on the product page or checkout.
4. Packaging and Insurance
Every antique item is packed with museum-level care:
- Protective materials (acid-free wrap, double boxing, corner guards)
- Shock-absorbing layers for fragile or glass components
- Sealed tamper-proof packaging
- Full-value shipping insurance through our logistics partners
If an item arrives damaged, please contact us immediately (see Section 6 below).
5. Delivery Time Frames
Estimated delivery times vary based on location:
- Domestic U.S. orders: 5–10 business days after shipment
- International orders: 10–21 business days, depending on customs clearance
We are not responsible for carrier or customs delays, but our team will assist with tracking and resolution whenever possible.
6. Damaged or Lost Shipments
We take every precaution to prevent damage during transit. However, in the rare event your package arrives damaged:
- Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at support@godfather-antiques.com
- Include photos of the damaged packaging and item
- Retain all original packaging materials until your claim is processed
We will file an insurance claim with the carrier on your behalf. Refunds or replacements will be handled based on the claim outcome.
If a shipment is lost in transit, please notify us as soon as possible — we will work directly with the courier and insurance provider to locate or reimburse the item.
7. Returns and Refunds
Due to the nature of antique and collectible items, all sales are final. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, and its condition is carefully documented before shipment.
However, we accept limited returns under the following conditions:
- The item received is significantly different from its description
- The item arrives with major damage not previously disclosed or caused during shipping
To request a return:
- Email support@godfather-antiques.com within 7 days of delivery
- Include your order number, photos, and reason for return
- Wait for our authorization before shipping the item back
Unauthorized returns or items returned without approval will not be accepted.
8. Return Shipping
If your return request is approved:
- The buyer is responsible for safely packaging and shipping the item back using a trackable and insured service
- Once received and inspected, we will issue a refund (minus any shipping, insurance, or processing fees)
- Refunds will be credited to your original payment method within 7–10 business days after inspection
9. Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned or refunded:
- Custom appraisals or digital services
- Final sale or clearance items
- Vendor consignment sales (purchased directly through third-party vendors)
- Items damaged due to misuse, mishandling, or unauthorized repair
10. International Shipping Notes
International customers are responsible for ensuring antiques can legally be imported into their country. Godfather Antiques is not responsible for delays or confiscation by customs authorities.
Certain materials (e.g., ivory, tortoiseshell, exotic woods) may have restrictions under CITES or local law. We recommend verifying regulations before purchasing internationally.
